Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma on Saturday honoured districts and blocks that achieved full saturation under NITI Aayog’s Sampoornata Abhiyaan, a campaign targeting inclusive grassroots governance.
Speaking at Raj Bhavan, the Governor said the initiative promotes 100% coverage in six sectors: maternal health and nutrition, agriculture, education, financial inclusion, skill development, and infrastructure. He praised the drive for building on the successes of the Aspirational Districts Programme (2018) and Blocks Programme (2023).
Districts like Kumuram Bheem-Asifabad, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, and Bhadradri-Kothagudem earned recognition for completing saturation goals. Blocks such as Gundala, Mutharam, Palimela, Tiryani, and Narnoor also stood out for their consistent performance.
The Governor credited District Collectors, frontline staff, and elected officials for effective last-mile delivery. He highlighted the critical roles of ASHAs, Anganwadi workers, ANMs, SHG leaders, and teachers in the achievement.
“Sampoornata is not just a goal; it’s a governance approach rooted in inclusion and accountability,” he said. He urged officials to embed saturation goals into annual planning to sustain gains.
Governor Varma announced he would personally visit all Aspirational Blocks in Telangana and asked SRLM to coordinate the logistics.
Ten top-performing blocks and their District Collectors received medals and appreciation certificates for innovation and service.
Among the dignitaries present were Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, Governor’s Principal Secretary Dana Kishore, SERP CEO Divya Devarajan, and NITI Aayog representative Dr. Salman Ahmad Siddiqui.
