The incident occurred at the Social Welfare Gurukul School examination center in Nakrekal, where the Telugu question paper was illicitly photographed and circulated on WhatsApp during the examination.
– Unidentified individuals reportedly approached a student during the examination, coerced her into displaying the question paper by threatening her with a stone, and subsequently took photographs of it.
– The images were then disseminated via WhatsApp, leading to the rapid spread of the leaked paper.
– In response to the breach, the Education Department dismissed the Chief Superintendent and the Departmental Officer from their duties for failing to maintain examination integrity.
– The student involved, identified as Jhansi Lakshmi, was debarred from the examination on allegations of facilitating the leak.
Student’s Plea:
– Jhansi Lakshmi has publicly expressed her anguish, stating that she was coerced into showing the question paper under duress and had no prior involvement in the leak.
– She has appealed to the authorities to revoke her debarment, emphasizing her innocence and the unfairness of being penalized for actions beyond her control
– Law enforcement agencies have detained 15 youths in connection with the paper leak and are conducting a thorough investigation to identify all individuals involved.
