Hyderabad: The Telangana government has released ₹125 crore to Hyderabad Airport Metro Rail Limited (HAML) for metro rail expansion in the Old City as part of the 2025–26 budget allocations.
Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department Secretary K. Ilambarathi issued the orders, confirming that the funds have been credited to HAML’s PD account. The budget had allocated ₹500 crore for the Old City metro works, of which ₹125 crore has now been disbursed. The remaining ₹375 crore is yet to be released.
Separately, ₹25 crore has been released to the Vemulawada Temple Area Development Authority (VTADA), out of the ₹100 crore sanctioned under the same budget head. The amount has also been deposited into the relevant PD account, with ₹75 crore pending.
