Hyderabad police arrested 18 illegal migrants involved in running organised brothels in Chaderghat and Khairatabad. The suspects, including Bangladeshi nationals, were allegedly trafficking women using forged documents.
HYDERABAD: In a coordinated operation, the Commissioner’s Task Force, South Zone Team, along with Chaderghat and Khairatabad police, raided two organized brothel houses in Hyderabad and arrested 18 individuals, including illegal migrants. The arrested individuals were allegedly involved in human trafficking and running brothels using women trafficked from Bangladesh.
Acting on credible information, the police conducted simultaneous raids at the two locations and took into custody the suspects, who were found to have facilitated the illegal migration of Bangladeshi nationals into India. Investigations revealed that the accused were part of a larger network that targeted vulnerable women facing financial distress in Bangladesh, luring them with false promises of employment before forcing them into the sex trade.
According to the police, brokers such as Kamarul Shekh and Ajarul Sekh, both natives of West Bengal, were key figures in the trafficking operation. They allegedly provided temporary shelter in West Bengal for the migrants and arranged Indian identity proofs with fake local addresses before sending them to different cities, including Hyderabad and Bangalore. The brokers reportedly charged between Rs 15,000 and Rs 20,000 per individual for illegal migration and document facilitation.
During the raids, law enforcement officers also rescued two minor girls. Among the arrested suspects, several had previous criminal records. Police identified Ritoy Islam, Mohd Rony Khan, Jalil Sardar, and Rajat Mandal as having been previously arrested in cases related to the POCSO Act and other serious offenses registered at various police stations, including Tukaramgate, Osmania University, and Rajendra Nagar.
The arrested individuals and the rescued minors were handed over to Chaderghat and Khairatabad police for further legal proceedings. Two separate cases were registered -one at Chaderghat Police Station under Crime No. 92/2025 and another at Khairatabad Police Station under Crime No. 59/2025 – under various sections of the PITA Act, the Foreigners Act, and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Police officials involved in the operation included S. Raghavendra, Inspector of Police, Task Force, South Zone, M. Raju, Inspector of Police, Chaderghat PS, S. Rajasekhar, Inspector of Police, Khairatabad PS, and several sub-inspectors and staff members. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation to identify other members of the trafficking network and trace additional victims.
