Hyderabad: A 23-year-old man died by suicide after jumping into Himayath Sagar lake on Tuesday. The deceased, identified as Arif Uddin, was a resident of Uppal Pally Happy Homes Colony under the Rajendranagar police station limits.
According to officials, Arif had been recovering from serious injuries sustained in a road accident two months ago. On the day of the incident, he booked a Rapido ride and traveled to the Himayath Sagar area. He then climbed over the fencing surrounding the lake and jumped into the water.
Local residents who witnessed the incident immediately alerted the police. Personnel from the Rajendranagar police station and the NTR district flood rescue team responded to the scene and began a search operation.
The reasons behind Arif’s decision are still unknown. Police have launched an investigation and are continuing search efforts to recover the body.
