Hyderabad: Around 2,500 women in Jubilee Hills constituency received sewing machines on Saturday under the Indiramma Minority Mahila Shakti Scheme. The distribution event took place at a function hall in Yousufguda division under the leadership of Congress candidate V. Naveen Yadav.
Women empowerment focus
State Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, attending as chief guest, said the Congress government under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is distributing sewing machines across Telangana to create livelihood opportunities.
He explained that the government aims to make women financially independent through programs such as women-owned RTC buses, solar plants, canteens, and petrol bunks. “Every woman will become a member of a self-help group to gain access to state benefits,” he added.
Call for Congress victory in bypoll
The minister also appealed to voters to back Congress in the Jubilee Hills by-election. He stressed that the party is focused on development and has begun constructing houses near employment hubs. He urged residents to support Congress as they did in the recent Secunderabad Cantonment bypoll.

TPCC working president Anjan Kumar Yadav, former MP Mohammad Azharuddin, Minority Corporation MD Kranti Wesley, Urdu Academy chairman Tahir Bin, HUDA chairman Inagala Venkata Ramireddy, Dairy Development Corporation chairman Gutta Amit, and Minority Finance Corporation chairman Obedulla Kotwal joined the program.
