Hyderabad: A total of 30,941 seats are available for the second phase of engineering counselling in Telangana, with web option entry open until Sunday. The increase follows the sanction of additional seats, pushing the number of unfilled seats beyond the 23,000 that remained after the first round.
In the first phase, 59,980 seats were filled out of 1,07,444 available. The combined intake, including both convenor and B-category quotas, stands at 1,16,877 seats across the state.
Officials said candidates who secured a seat in the first round can opt for a better college or branch in the second. However, if allotted a new seat, the earlier one will be forfeited and reassigned.
Seat allotment for the second round will be completed by July 30 or earlier, authorities said.
The number of engineering courses has also risen to 48 this year. A new course in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence has been introduced by a prominent college, marking the latest addition to the list of programmes.
