50 Nagarkurnool students fall ill after hostel meal

Hyderabad: Fifty students at the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Girls Gurukul School in Uyyalawada, Nagarkurnool, were hospitalised Saturday night after falling ill from hostel food.

The incident began after students were served pakodis as evening snacks and cabbage curry for dinner. Nine students complained of stomach pain and vomiting soon after the meal and were taken to the town’s general hospital for treatment.

As the night progressed, the number of affected students rose to 50. All were shifted to the hospital in 108 emergency vehicles. Health officials are monitoring the situation.
