Hyderabad: Kamareddy police and emergency teams rescued 81 people trapped by floodwaters in various parts of the district on Thursday, said SP B. Rajesh Chandra.
In Annasagar village, SDRF and fire services teams pulled nine people to safety after floodwater surrounded their homes. Meanwhile, a joint team rescued seven others stranded on a flooded road between Narva and Annasagar. The SP directly contacted the group and assured them of immediate help.

Additionally, an NDRF unit reached Gunkal village and saved five people stuck near the Manjeera river. Fire personnel assisted in the timely operation.
In Kamareddy town, local police moved 60 residents out of Housing Board Colony after floodwater submerged the area. SP Rajesh Chandra joined the rescue on the ground and supervised the relief activities.
Flooding also hit JR Colony, where rising water reached the ground floors of homes. Residents called for urgent help, and police teams quickly relocated them to safer locations.
Elsewhere, in Nagireddypet under Yellareddy Assembly constituency, police rescued several hostel students. Floodwater had entered a boys’ hostel, causing panic among the children. The police safely evacuated all students from the building.
