Hyderabad: Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Saturday participated in the International Yoga Day celebrations organised by the Telangana government at KBR Park.
He joined students and officials in performing yoga asanas during the event. Displaying ease with the exercises, he said regular yoga practice is the reason he remains active even at his age. He urged people of all ages to include yoga in their daily routine.
Ponnam said many of his peers who did not take up yoga were now facing health complications. He added that daily yoga offers clear physical benefits and helps manage lifestyle-related stress. He appealed to the public to take a personal pledge to integrate yoga into everyday life, rather than treating it as a one-day activity.
The minister said yoga had no boundaries of religion or caste and could be beneficial to everyone. He called on people dealing with stress and pressure to try yoga as a solution.
Hyderabad District Collector Dasari Harichandan, MP Anil Kumar Yadav, and MLC Addanki Dayakar also attended the event. Speaking at the programme, Harichandan said yoga contributes significantly to a healthier and more peaceful lifestyle in Hyderabad city.
