Agricultural University counselling skips top 172 EAPCET rankers

Hyderabad: Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) has decided to begin admission counseling for B.Sc. Agriculture, Horticulture and Veterinary courses from rank 173, after the top 172 rank holders in the Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture & Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (TG EAPCET) rank holders did not apply for seats.

Officials said the counseling will be held on Tuesday at the university auditorium. Despite their top ranks, the candidates chose not to submit applications for admission. University sources believe they are likely to have opted for medical or other professional courses through NEET and other exams.

This year, over 11,000 candidates applied for Agri University counseling. Based on EAPCET ranks, the seats across the three universities are allocated by the Agricultural University. The counseling schedule is released after verifying applications.

Separately, the university has launched counseling for its dual degree program in collaboration with Western Sydney University, Australia. The session began on Monday at the Centre for Natural Resources and Environment in Rajendranagar. Registrar Vidhyasagar handed over the first allotment letter to candidate Akshaya Priya. The program allows students to study the first three years in Hyderabad and the final year in Sydney.
