Rajanarasimha announced that a special officer will be appointed to address Gandhi Hospital’s challenges. The meeting also reviewed fire safety infrastructure, the hospital’s electrical systems, modular operating theatres, and other support facilities.

He stated that the government was actively addressing the shortage of biomedical engineers, with plans under consideration to appoint 12 new engineers statewide. Measures to strengthen staffing at Gandhi Hospital were already in progress, he added.

The minister revealed that 2016 additional beds will be added to the hospital, with corresponding staff recruitment to follow. He also noted the successful functioning of IVF centres at Gandhi Hospital and disclosed that Telangana currently has 370 IVF centres, including 150 in Hyderabad alone.

Rajanarasimha said investigations were ongoing into any irregularities at these centres. The ART, surrogacy, and IVF Acts were being strictly enforced, and modern hospital equipment was now under tighter supervision to ensure high-quality care delivery.
