Smita Sabharwal gets relief from High Court in Kaleshwaram case

Hyderabad: Senior Telangana IAS officer Smita Sabharwal received interim relief from the High Court in the Kaleshwaram case. The court directed that no action be taken against her based on the Justice PC Ghosh Commission report.

The High Court issued the order while hearing her petition, which challenged the findings of the Ghosh Commission. The commission had reportedly mentioned her role in the alleged irregularities related to the Kaleshwaram project.

Sabharwal approached the High Court recently, seeking to quash the commission’s conclusions. The court stated that her plea would be heard along with other pending petitions on the matter.

Granting temporary protection, the court barred authorities from initiating any proceedings against her based solely on the commission’s report.
