Hyderabad: A fatal road accident occurred late on Wednesday night on the Rajiv Rahadari near Kothapalli Rajiv Rahadari village in Thimmapur mandal of Karimnagar district. One person died on the spot, and another sustained serious injuries when an RTC bus hits a harvester.
RTC bus hits harvester in Karimnagar, killing one
According to police, the RTC bus was travelling from Karimnagar towards Hyderabad when it crashed into a harvester moving ahead of it. The impact was severe, killing the harvester helper, Gurrala Sagar, instantly.
The harvester driver, Gundrathi Santosh, received multiple injuries in the collision. Consequently, police rushed him to the Karimnagar Government Hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, several passengers on the bus also suffered minor injuries.
Police begin investigation into Karimnagar accident
Police reached the accident site soon after the incident and cleared the damaged vehicles from the road to restore traffic. Officials said they were verifying how the accident took place and whether it involved speeding or negligence.
The authorities registered a case and started an investigation. Officers added that further details would be released after a detailed inquiry.
