Hyderabad: An unidentified vehicle struck and killed a 29-year-old man on National Highway 65 near Kodad in Suryapet district late Saturday night. His companion suffered serious injuries.
The victim, Pidatala Ramu of Nallabandagudem village, had travelled to Kodad with his friend Mallela Gopi on a two-wheeler. While returning home, a vehicle hit their bike near the Srirangapuram bypass and sped away.
Ramu died instantly. Gopi sustained multiple injuries. Family members shifted him to a hospital in Khammam for better treatment.
The fatal crash left residents of Nallabandagudem in deep sorrow.
