Task Force busts sex racket in Banjara Hills hotel

Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone, on Thursday busted a sex racket Banjara Hills hotel and arrested the organiser along with customers and a receptionist.

Police raided R‑Inn Hotel on Road No.12, Banjara Hills. They arrested the organiser, Md. Shareef (36), a businessman and owner of Style Maker Saloon, Royal Kunj Apartments. They also detained seven customers all from Kurnool and one hotel receptionist. Meanwhile, three women were rescued, including one woman from Uzbekistan.

Officers seized ₹5,950 in cash, 13 mobile phones, and 12 unused condoms. The team handed the accused, the seized material, and the rescued women to Banjara Hills Police Station for further legal action.

According to investigators, Shareef lured unemployed women with promises of salon jobs. Then he forced some into prostitution. He used his business address as a front. Police said he targeted vulnerable women and arranged clients at the hotel.

Operation and supervision

The raid was led by Addl. Dy. Commissioner M. Iqbal Siddiqui of the Commissioner’s Task Force, West and South‑West zones. He was assisted by Inspector Ch. Yadender, SI D. Ravi Raj, and West Zone Task Force staff. The team acted after specific intelligence and executed the operation swiftly.
