Hyderabad: Seven individuals were arrested by Gajwel police and the Siddipet district Task Force for allegedly consuming and attempting to sell ganja in Gajwel town. The joint operation led to the seizure of narcotics and related items.
According to Gajwel ACP K. Narasimhulu, the arrested include Mohammad Anjad, Tanguturi Sivanandam, Panir Teja, and Mohammad Sohail, all residents of Gajwel; Maddikunta Ganesh and Batti Balakrishna from Ramsagar village in Rayapole mandal; and Uppari Uday Kiran from Gudikandula village in Thoguta mandal. Police acted on credible information regarding their involvement in ganja use and distribution.
A team comprising Gajwel SI T. Sriram Premdeep, local police staff, and the Siddipet Task Force conducted coordinated raids and detained the suspects. During the operation, officers confiscated 800 grams of ganja, seven mobile phones, three motorcycles, and one clay chillum used for smoking the substance.
Police confirmed that cases were registered against all seven individuals. Following initial investigation, the accused were remanded to judicial custody. The operation was carried out under the supervision of Gajwel Inspector V. Ravikumar, with participation from SIs T. Sriram Premdeep and V. Raghupathi, local police personnel, and Task Force officials.
