Hyderabad: The Telangana Education Department issued the teacher eligibility test notification and opened fee payment and online applications on Saturday. Officials said applicants can submit forms until November 29, while candidates can download hall tickets from December 27.

Exams will run from January 3 to 31 in 2026. The department fixed the fee at ₹750 for one paper and ₹1,000 for two papers, and candidates must pay online. Officials recalled that teachers recruited before 2010 enjoyed an exemption earlier, but the Supreme Court ruling ended that benefit and made TET compulsory for everyone.
The department asked all working teachers to clear TET within two years. Those with less than five years of service still hold an exemption, but others must pass the test to retain their jobs. The Government also cleared teachers recruited before 2010 to take TET again so they can follow the new court-mandated rules.
