Hyderabad: Saudi bus accident reports involving Hyderabad pilgrims drew a detailed response from Hyderabad Commissioner of Police V C Sajjnar on Monday. He said the tragedy deeply shocked the city because several residents lost their lives.

According to Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar, the group of 54 pilgrims had departed from Hyderabad to Jeddah on 9 November for a 15-day pilgrimage tour scheduled to end on 23 November. While four individuals had travelled to Madinah separately by car and four others stayed back in Makkah, the remaining 46 were en route to Madinah by bus when the accident occurred.
He said the crash occurred about 25 kilometres before Madinah, and the sudden loss disturbed families who expected the group to continue their travel plan until 23 November. Moreover, he expressed deep grief over the scale of the tragedy and said it caused immense pain across Hyderabad.
Sajjanar confirmed that only one man, identified as Mohammad Shoaib, survived the crash. He extended condolences to the grieving families and said the city stood with them at this difficult time.

Officials revealed that two families from Hyderabad died in the accident. They released the names of the victims, and relatives broke down as they received the confirmation. Authorities continued coordinating with officials abroad to gather more verified details for families in Hyderabad.
