Urdu Excellence Award honours MANUU scholar Satupati Jhansi

Hyderabad: The Urdu Excellence Award was presented to Satupati Jhansi of MANUU’s Urdu Department for her notable work in promoting Urdu across Andhra Pradesh. Moreover, the state Urdu Academy honoured her during a special ceremony held on the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India’s first Education Minister.

Officials said the award recognised her academic service, language outreach and social commitment. In addition, they highlighted her active involvement in several programmes designed to expand Urdu’s reach. Her initiative “Urdu Ki Udaan” gained strong praise because it opened new paths for cultural learning and community engagement.

Meanwhile, her colleagues noted that her dedication and consistent work created new interest in Urdu among young learners. They said her efforts offered an example for students who wished to support language growth.

The Urdu Excellence Award also acknowledged Jhansi’s ongoing PhD research at MANUU. She joined the programme in September 2023 and, since then, has worked under the guidance of Dr B.B. Raza Khatoon. Furthermore, her study explores Urdu education, language development and cultural harmony. These themes link directly to her field activities, therefore strengthening her academic profile.

Later, university leaders congratulated her on the honour. Vice-Chancellor Professor Syed Ainul Hasan and Registrar Professor Ishtiaq Ahmed both praised her commitment to Urdu and encouraged her to continue her work. Additionally, faculty members and students of the Urdu Department expressed joy and said her achievement inspired young scholars.
