Hyderabad: Telangana launched Mee Seva WhatsApp services to cut repeated visits to Mee Seva centres and give citizens mobile-based access to key services. IT and Industries Minister Sridhar Babu unveiled the platform at Taj Krishna in Banjara Hills.
The state partnered with Meta to expand digital delivery. As a result, users can apply for income, birth, death, and residency certificates through WhatsApp. They can also track each update after submitting an application at a centre.
Moreover, citizens may download approved certificates directly on WhatsApp. The government activated the official number 8096958096 for this purpose. Consequently, applicants can view alerts, check progress, and receive final documents without travelling.

The platform further supports police challans, ration shop renewals, temple services, building permissions, vehicle life tax, licences, and property tax payments. Officials said the system aims to speed up routine tasks and reduce queues at centres. Additionally, teams are monitoring early user feedback to improve the service flow.
State widens Mee Seva WhatsApp services integration
The government linked 38 departments to the new platform. It now plans to expand Mee Seva WhatsApp services in the next phase. Therefore, teams are preparing to onboard more departments and move additional services to the channel.
Officials said the initiative will help citizens complete daily requirements from home. They expect usage to rise as more services shift to WhatsApp. Furthermore, the state aims to build a faster and simpler experience for all users.
