Madinah bus accident: United Muslim Forum expressed grief

Hyderabad: The United Muslim Forum expressed deep sorrow over the Madinah bus accident and conveyed condolences to the families of the Hyderabad pilgrims who died in the crash. The Forum prayed for the victims and encouraged the families to stay strong during the difficult period.

The Forum said the pilgrims completed Umrah and then travelled toward Madinah. Soon after, their bus met with an accident near the holy city. As a result, the tragedy caused widespread grief across Hyderabad. The leaders said the community stood with the families and continued to pray for them.

Furthermore, the Forum praised Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi for approaching the Ministry of External Affairs. He sought timely assistance for the victims and ensured coordinated support. Moreover, the Forum welcomed steps taken by the Telangana government. The Minister for Minority Welfare and several legislators met the families and offered comfort. A control room also began operating to guide relatives and provide verified updates.

In addition, the Forum appreciated the government’s decision to send a delegation to Madinah under the Minister for Minority Welfare. Later, the state cabinet approved ex gratia relief for the affected households. The Forum said these decisions offered reassurance to grieving families.

Meanwhile, messages from the Prime Minister, the External Affairs Minister and other national leaders reached the families. The Forum said these responses reflected national concern. It also noted that many Indians lived in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf nations, including a large number from Telangana and Hyderabad. Therefore, the Forum stressed the need for a structured support system for migrants and pilgrims.

Additionally, the Forum urged the creation of a dedicated mechanism for Hajj and Umrah travellers. It suggested forming a department through the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Minority Welfare and said the Kerala model offered useful guidance. The Forum ended its statement with prayers for the victims and words of comfort for their families.
