Hyderabad: With dense winter fog lowering visibility on highways and city roads, the Cyberabad Police on Wednesday issued a safety advisory focusing on fog safety tips. They urged motorists to stay alert and follow specific precautions.
Police step up patrolling, urge extra caution on ORR and highways
The advisory includes fog safety tips, urging drivers to use low-beam headlights and fog lights. Additionally, drivers should keep a safe distance from other vehicles and avoid sudden braking. It also warns against using hazard lights while driving in fog.
Two-wheeler riders should wear reflective jackets and keep helmet visors clean to improve visibility. Among the fog safety tips, police asked all motorists to use GPS and check that brakes, wipers, tyres, and tail lamps are in good working order before travel.
To ensure public safety with fog safety tips in mind, Cyberabad Police will increase patrolling in fog-prone areas. They also urged people to avoid unnecessary travel during heavy fog, especially on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and national highways.
