Hyderabad: Former Facebook India Managing Director Kirthiga Reddy on Wednesday advised women professionals to adopt Artificial Intelligence with care. “Use AI. Rely on it. But always double-check it,” she said, addressing FICCI FLO’s ‘Growth Code’ event in Madhapur.
Reddy shared her journey from Nanded to Silicon Valley, where she became Facebook India’s first employee and later a global tech leader. She also spoke about ‘AI Kiran’, her nationwide initiative supported by NASSCOM and other partners, aimed at empowering one million Indian women in AI.
Reddy calls for bold vision and uniquely Indian innovation
Highlighting her roots, Reddy noted that although many know her as a global tech figure, few realise she is a Telugu woman. She said early moves across Indian states taught her agility and adaptability, shaping her path to a Stanford MBA and her role as Chair of the Stanford Business Management Board.
She emphasised that founders she backs must show bold vision, relentless focus on real problems, and an innovation mindset rooted in Indian realities.
FLO Hyderabad Chairperson Prathibha Kunda also spoke at the session, urging women to prepare for a digital future where tech skills will be central to career growth.
