KTR urges cadre to gear up for upcoming elections, build strong booth teams

Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Wednesday urged party workers to start preparing for the upcoming local body, GHMC, and Assembly elections. He emphasized the need to form a 4,000-member booth-level team in Jubilee Hills constituency to boost grassroots strength.

He addressed a review meeting at Telangana Bhavan with leaders and workers from Jubilee Hills. The meeting aimed to assess the party’s performance in the recent by-election and reorganize ahead of future polls.

BRS aims to rebuild after Jubilee Hills bypoll loss

KTR appreciated the team’s effort in backing Sunitha, the wife of late MLA Gopinath, during the Jubilee Hills bypoll. Although she lost to Congress candidate Naveen Yadav, he commended party workers for their commitment. Furthermore, he alleged that the ruling Congress and BJP disrupted the election process. According to him, outsiders from Karnataka were brought in to sway votes. Specifically, he cited irregularities in areas like Sheikhpet and Erragadda.

Looking ahead, KTR said the Sarpanch and Zilla Parishad elections are expected by December. He also announced a state-wide BRS membership drive to follow.

Former minister T. Harish Rao, who also attended the meeting, said that even in defeat, BRS achieved a “moral victory.” Despite the outcome, he praised the dedication shown by party cadres throughout the campaign.
