Hyderabad: The Telangana government decided to make all beneficiary payments under the Indiramma housing scheme through the Aadhaar Payment Bill System. Housing Corporation Managing Director V.P. Gautam said the change aimed to ensure that instalment bills reached beneficiaries on time and to reduce complaints about non-receipt of funds through banks.
The scheme provides ₹5 lakh in instalments to each beneficiary, depending on the stage of house construction, through online transfers. So far, ₹590 crore has been disbursed across the state. Officials noted that recent complaints about delayed or missing credits were often due to errors in bank account details, incorrect IFSC codes, or inactive accounts.
Aadhaar payment system for Indiramma housing bills
To address these issues and prevent recurrence, the government trialled Aadhaar-linked payments for about 9,100 beneficiaries, of which nearly 9,000 were processed without any problem. Based on this outcome, all future Indiramma housing scheme bills will be routed exclusively through the Aadhaar Payment Bill System to speed up transactions and eliminate payment failures, Gautam said.
