Hyderabad: Congress MLA and Government Whip Aadi Srinivas on Saturday accused BRS leader T. Harish Rao of staging political theatrics ahead of the Jubilee Hills by-election.
He alleged that Harish Rao was trying to mislead the public by blaming the Congress government for issues rooted in the previous BRS administration. “Harish Rao is trying to hide his party’s failures by attacking the current government,” Srinivas said.
He criticised Rao’s recent inspection of the under-construction TIMS Hospital at LB Nagar. According to Srinivas, Rao made baseless claims against the Congress despite doing little during his own tenure.
The MLA challenged Harish Rao to explain why the BRS government failed to establish any super-specialty hospitals in its decade-long rule.
Srinivas further claimed that since coming to power, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had prioritized public healthcare. He said nearly 90 percent of ongoing hospital projects had reached completion under the Congress administration.
He also hit out at BRS leaders for ignoring Gandhi and Osmania hospitals during their rule. “They denied the poor access to free healthcare, and now they lecture us,” he said.
Aadi Srinivas emphasized that it was the Congress that originally launched the Arogyasri health scheme, which expanded healthcare access for underprivileged citizens across Telangana.
