Delhi, January 27: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) unveiled 15 guarantees for Delhi on Monday, outlining its commitments ahead of the upcoming elections.

Party convenor and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal addressed the public, acknowledging his government’s inability to fulfil certain promises made in 2020, including cleaning the Yamuna, transforming Delhi’s roads to European standards, and improving water supply.

Kejriwal expressed regret, saying, “I admit today that we couldn’t achieve these goals in the last five years. The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted progress for two and a half years, and after that, the central government’s actions, including jail cases, scattered my team. However, we are now back and determined. I dream of completing these three tasks, and we have the funds and plans to achieve them in the next five years.”

Kejriwal reassured Delhiites that ongoing schemes such as 24-hour free electricity, free water, free education, free pilgrimage for senior citizens, free bus travel for women, and free healthcare in hospitals and mohalla clinics will continue. He also criticised the BJP, claiming its leaders have openly indicated that free welfare schemes would be discontinued if they come to power in Delhi.

Targeting the BJP, Kejriwal remarked, “If the lotus button is pressed, an additional Rs 25,000 per month will burden every household. Our government has saved this amount for families. I doubt the poor can bear such expenses. Many might even have to leave Delhi. Voting for the lotus will lead to chaos everywhere.”
