Hyderabad: Police in Abdullapurmet seized a large consignment of gelatin sticks being transported illegally and arrested three persons. The operation took place on Monday evening during vehicle checks at Saddupalli crossroads.
According to police, a Kia Sonet car (TS 05 FM 7070) coming from Ghatkesar towards Abdullapurmet was stopped on suspicion. On inspection, officers found a bag containing 198 gelatin sticks without any valid permits.

The arrested were identified as Konidala Saidulu of Shabad, and Alakuntla Venkatesh and Chandrasekhar of Abdullapurmet. Police also seized the car and three mobile phones.
During questioning, the accused admitted that they had procured the explosive material from Naveen of Chityal. A case was registered and further investigation is underway, Abdullapurmet Inspector said.
