Hyderabad: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested KY Venu Gopal, a Sub-Inspector posted at Gachibowli Women Police Station, for allegedly accepting a ₹25,000 bribe to delete a name from a case record.
According to ACB officials, the bribe was solicited to remove the name of the complainant’s mother from an existing police case. The SI was caught red-handed while accepting the amount.
The ACB recovered the tainted cash and conducted a chemical test, which returned positive results confirming the officer’s involvement. Following the trap, the Sub-Inspector was taken into custody and remanded to judicial custody.
The case highlights ongoing efforts by the ACB to crack down on corruption within law enforcement agencies in Telangana.
