HYDERABAD: In connection with the Irrigation ACB Raids, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted simultaneous searches at 14 locations linked to former Irrigation Chief Engineer Hari Ram.
The raids were based on findings from an NDSA report, which highlighted alleged irregularities in the design of the Kaleshwaram project. Hari Ram played a pivotal role in the project’s design and had served as Managing Director of the Kaleshwaram Corporation as well as Deputy ENC in the Irrigation Department. His wife also previously held the post of Deputy ENC in the same department.
The ACB searches included Hari Ram’s residence in Tolichowki, where substantial properties and documents were seized. Notably, documents related to 30 acres of land in Gajwel were recovered. Additionally, officials discovered the existence of three bank lockers registered under his name.
It is reported that Hari Ram had appeared before a commission last year. The latest raids were prompted by points raised in the NDSA report. The ACB stated that further legal action would be pursued based on the seized documents and evidence.
