ACB raids Telangana

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted surprise raids across Telangana on July 17, targeting Sub-Registrar Offices (SROs) in Bibi Nagar (Nalgonda), Sadashivapet (Medak), and Jadcherla (Mahaboobnagar).

At Bibi Nagar, officials seized ₹61,430 in unaccounted cash and found 12 unauthorised private agents/document writers operating inside the office. Ninety-three registered documents, meant to be dispatched, were still in SRO staff custody. Several government registers were not maintained and CCTV cameras were found non-functional.

At Jadcherla, ₹30,900 was recovered, and 11 unauthorised agents were present. Twenty documents meant for dispatch were held back, and key records were missing.

At Sadashivapet, ₹5,550 was seized along with the presence of 9 unauthorised agents. Thirty-nine documents were improperly held by staff, CCTV systems were down, and multiple registers were not maintained. There were discrepancies in personal cash holdings of staff, and several irregularities were noted.

The ACB said it would forward a detailed report to the government for further action.

Public Advisory:
The public can report bribery demands by calling ACB’s toll-free number 1064. Reports can also be made via WhatsApp (9440446106), Facebook (Telangana ACB), or X/Twitter (@TelanganaACB). Complainant identities will be kept confidential.
