Police conduct cordon and search in Achampet’s Shiva Sai Nagar Colony

Hyderabad: Police conducted a cordon and search operation in Shiva Sai Nagar Colony of Achampet town, Nagarkurnool district, early Wednesday morning. Achampet DSP Palle Srinivas, CI Nagaraju, and SI Saddam Hussain led the team.

DSP Srinivas said many new houses had come up in the colony, and thefts were becoming frequent. Therefore, the police conducted the operation as part of a community mobilisation drive to stop such crimes and alert residents.

Police stress vigilance during the Achampet cordon search

The DSP urged residents to replace cheap locks with modern central lock alarm systems. He explained that these locks send instant alerts to homeowners when break-ins occur, helping them act quickly. Srinivas also cautioned people to stay alert against online scams, cybercrimes, and drug-related activities.

CI Nagaraju asked locals to report suspicious persons immediately by calling 100 or contacting nearby police officers. He added that awareness about new constructions and unknown activities, especially on the outskirts, can help prevent theft and fraud.

Nagaraju encouraged residents to install CCTV cameras for better safety. He said cameras help identify criminals faster and provide stronger home protection. Police also seized 60 two-wheelers, one car, and one Tata Ace Bolero during the operation. Officers will return vehicles after document verification. If papers are missing, they will register cases under the relevant sections.

Eight sub-inspectors and 60 constables took part in the operation, ensuring wide coverage across the colony.
