Hyderabad: Congress MLC Addanki Dayakar on Saturday hit back at BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), calling his comments on party defections both hypocritical and irrelevant.
In a video statement, Dayakar responded sharply to KTR’s remarks against Congress MLAs who joined the ruling party. He accused KTR of double standards and questioned his silence when BRS welcomed defectors in the past.
“Where was your face when your party poached 39 MLAs, 3 MPs, and 16 MLCs during your ten-year rule?” Dayakar asked. He said KTR had no moral right to criticise defections now after doing the same while in power.
Addanki Dayakar hits back at KTR, defends Revanth Reddy
The Congress leader defended Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, crediting him with defeating the BRS and forcing its leaders into retreat. “Revanth Reddy is a man of courage. He slapped his thigh and defeated you, sending you back to your farmhouse,” he said.
Dayakar also targeted former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. He claimed both KCR and KTR had failed as opposition leaders and lost public trust. According to him, the people no longer took them seriously.
He dismissed KTR’s allegations as baseless and full of theatrics. “When you talk like a clown, the people of Telangana will stop taking you seriously,” Dayakar said, intensifying the political row.
