HYDERABAD: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) announced the finalization of candidates for the upcoming Member of Legislative Council (MLC) elections in Telangana on Sunday. Among the nominees is senior Congress leader Addanki Dayakar, who expressed his gratitude for the nomination and addressed recent speculations regarding his relationship with fellow party leaders.
Expression of gratitude
Upon receiving news of his nomination, Addanki Dayakar conveyed his appreciation to the party leadership, particularly Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Revanth Reddy, for their support. He described the MLC position as a “gift” and a recognition of his two decades of public service. Dayakar emphasized that dedication to the party leads to such opportunities and reaffirmed his commitment to working diligently for the public.
Clarification on relationship with Komatireddy brothers
Addressing rumors of internal conflicts, Dayakar clarified that he harbors no differences with Nalgonda district leaders, specifically the Komatireddy brothers—Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy. He asserted that no disputes existed in the past and none would arise in the future, underscoring a united front within the party.
Stance on cabinet position
Regarding speculations about seeking a cabinet position, Dayakar stated that he has no aspirations for such roles. His focus remains on serving the public and strengthening the party’s presence in Telangana.
