Hyderabad: Congress MLC Addanki Dayakar launched a sharp attack on the BJP and BRS on Tuesday, accusing their leaders of creating baseless noise and misleading the public. Speaking at Gandhi Bhavan, he said BJP and BRS leaders were “barking like mad dogs” as Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s leadership gains public approval.
Addanki Dayakar said he is willing to visit the BJP office for a debate if they fix the date and time. “Let them tell the people what the Centre has done for Telangana. The BJP should release a white paper detailing the funds and assistance given to the state,” he said.
Criticising BJP MP Etela Rajender, Dayakar remarked, “Etela is half BJP, half BRS,” and added that leaders like Harish Rao, K.T. Rama Rao, Etela, and Bandi Sanjay should speak sensibly. He praised CM Revanth Reddy for honestly presenting the state’s financial situation and described the Congress government’s transparency as a responsible step.
Referring to the state’s financial crisis, he said the Congress government is paying ₹7,000 crore per month in interest alone on debts incurred by the previous KCR-led administration. “KCR pushed the state into debt, and now Congress is paying the price,” he said.
He also mocked Bandi Sanjay, calling him “the slipper minister” and accused him of reacting defensively whenever the topic of slippers is raised. He questioned the credibility of those criticising Revanth Reddy, stating, “Now that Revanth is gaining popularity, petty leaders are surfacing.”
Addanki Dayakar defended the Congress government’s BC caste census and attacked those downplaying it. “When a Reddy CM conducted a BC survey, they couldn’t tolerate it,” he said.
On BRS, he accused its leaders of looting Telangana while pretending to lead a movement. “KCR and his team built a party in the name of the movement, only to rob the state,” he claimed.
He also commented on Kavitha’s recent public statements, saying they sound like apologies. “She’s speaking as if saying ‘we couldn’t do anything, forgive us’,” he said.
Targeting the ongoing protests by employee unions, Addanki Dayakar urged government employees not to fall for the words of union leaders.
Regarding KTR’s injury, he sarcastically asked if he should still hold press conferences despite being unwell. “They act as if KTR alone should run the show,” he said.
He further accused KCR of grooming his son KTR as successor through carefully planned moves. “Even at the TRS silver jubilee meeting, Harish Rao’s photo was missing. He’s being sidelined like curry leaves,” Dayakar said, suggesting internal rifts in BRS.
