Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Telangana caught Srinivas Reddy, Joint Sub-Registrar of Adilabad Registration and Stamps Department, red-handed while taking a bribe of ₹5,000.
Officials said the officer demanded the money from a complainant to register a house in the complainant’s wife’s name under a gift deed. The ACB team trapped the accused while he accepted the cash.
Authorities said the officer misused his official position for personal gain. He was arrested and taken into custody. Further investigation is underway.
ACB urges public to report corruption
The agency urged citizens to report any government servant who demands a bribe. People can dial the toll-free number 1064 or reach ACB through WhatsApp (9440446106), Facebook (Telangana ACB), X (@TelanganaACB), or the official website (https://acb.telangana.gov.in).
ACB assured that the identity of complainants and victims will remain strictly confidential.
