Hyderabad: A youth from Telangana’s Adilabad district suffered minor burns after a mobile phone exploded in his trouser pocket while he was riding a motorcycle with his mother.
The incident occurred on the Boraj highway when Gangadhar, a resident of Pippalkoti village in Bheempur mandal and a professional driver, was returning from Maharashtra to his hometown.
According to the victim, the smartphone had been purchased only a few days ago. The device suddenly burst into flames while inside his pocket, causing burns to his thigh. Gangadhar was immediately rushed to RIMS Hospital, where he received first aid.
Speaking after the incident, Gangadhar said he intends to file a complaint with a consumer forum regarding the defective device.
