Hyderabad: The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Cyberabad police busted a prostitution racket in Madhapur on August 13. They rescued nine women and arrested nine accused in the operation.
Acting on credible information, the AHTU team raided BSR Super Luxury & Living Hotel in Gayatri Nagar Colony, Parvath Nagar. They found seven women from five Indian states West Bengal (2), Delhi (2), Jharkhand (1), Haryana (1), and Punjab (1) along with two foreign nationals from Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Women & Children Safety Wing, the accused brought women from various parts of India. They posted ads on websites such as Locanto and Skokka, contacted customers via calls and WhatsApp, and arranged meetings in hotels and Oyo rooms. The accused collected money to run this organised prostitution network.
Police identified the arrested as Hamer Singh alias Amid Singh (organiser), Thammi Srinivas (supervisor), Pokala Venkateshwarlu, Bekmetova Gulshat, Rakhmanova Malika alias Lovina Bora, Lakshman Tumu, Akash Bajaj, Gora Mohammed Wasim, and K. Parthiban.
Madhapur police booked a case (Cr. No. 1530/2025) under sections 143 and 144 of the BNS, sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act, and section 14 of the Foreigners Act, 1946.
Cyberabad police urged women to stay alert against fake job offers that promise easy money. They warned that agents often trick women into prostitution. In addition, they advised hotels including Oyo to verify guest IDs and check the background of single occupants. Landlords were told to screen tenants before renting out property.
