Hyderabad: An Air India flight scheduled to depart from Hyderabad to Mumbai was cancelled on Friday after a technical fault was detected just before takeoff.
Flight AI2534 was on the tarmac at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport when the pilot identified a technical issue. The aircraft was immediately grounded and passengers, who had already boarded and taken their seats, were asked to deboard.
Air India did not disclose the exact nature of the problem but stated it was identified during routine safety checks. The airline said the decision to cancel the flight was made as a precaution, with passenger safety being the top priority.
Passengers impacted by the disruption were quickly accommodated—some were shifted to alternate flights, while others chose to take full refunds.
The episode has once again spotlighted ongoing worries about technical snags in air travel, even as many passengers credited the airline for responding promptly and keeping things under control.
