Hyderabad: Protests broke out in Telangana’s Vikarabad district on Sunday after a statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was found vandalised in Patapahad village.
The incident triggered tension in the area, with residents immediately alerting the police after noticing the damage. Locals demanded that those responsible be identified and booked without delay.
Following the report, police registered a case and began an investigation.
In response to the vandalism, villagers and members of social organisations staged a demonstration, blocking the Mahbubnagar-Pargi road at the Patapahad junction. Protesters called for the immediate arrest of those involved and sought strict action.
Demonstrators also raised slogans in tribute to Ambedkar’s contributions during the protest.
