Hyderabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday urged Naxalites to end violence and surrender, declaring that the government would eradicate Naxalism across India by March 30, 2026.
After opening the National Turmeric Board office in Nizamabad, Shah addressed farmers at a gathering held at the local polytechnic grounds. He said Pakistan had aimed to spread fear through the Pahalgam terror attack but India had demonstrated its strength. Shah stated Prime Minister Modi’s mission included wiping out terrorism as well as Naxalism, and that 10,000 Naxals had already surrendered and returned to civil life.
He appealed to remaining armed groups to lay down weapons and join the mainstream.
On Telangana politics, Shah claimed the BJP was set to win the state, citing worker enthusiasm. He credited Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind with fulfilling a long-standing demand for a turmeric board, noting the new office would help local farmers export turmeric worldwide, including to America and Europe through Bharat Export Limited. He also announced Bharat Organic Limited would be established in Nizamabad.
Shah alleged the BRS party’s former state government had indulged in large-scale corruption and accused the current Congress-led government of turning Telangana into an ATM for Delhi.
Union Ministers Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay, MPs Dharmapuri Arvind, Laxman, and other public representatives were present at the event.
