Hyderabad: Telangana’s Amrabad Tiger Reserve has been temporarily closed to tourists until September 30 in line with guidelines from the National Tiger Conservation Authority, forest officials announced on Tuesday.
Authorities cited safety concerns during the monsoon season for both visitors and staff as the reason for the closure.
Officials noted that the rainy period is crucial for wildlife, especially tiger breeding, and restricting access to core zones would support safe reproduction.
The break will also allow repairs to forest infrastructure and preparations for the next tourist season, they added.
The reserve is expected to reopen for tourists on October 1.
