KURNOOL: Two people, including a child and a woman, were killed in separate lightning strikes during heavy rainfall in parts of Andhra Pradesh. Thunderstorms lashed several regions on Thursday, accompanied by lightning and thunder, causing panic among residents.
The incidents occurred in Kurnool and Anantapur districts, where lightning strikes claimed the lives of a young boy and a woman. The boy was identified as a resident of Kandanadi village in Kurnool district, while the woman hailed from Kadiripalli in Anantapur district.
According to locals, both victims had taken shelter under trees during the rainfall when lightning struck, resulting in their instant deaths. Their bodies have been shifted for post-mortem examinations.
Thunderstorms are expected to continue in several parts of Andhra Pradesh, and authorities have urged residents to avoid taking shelter under trees during inclement weather.
