Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader and former MP Anjan Kumar Yadav confirmed that he has sought a ministerial berth from the party high command but remains uncertain whether he will be nominated to the Legislative Council or given a ticket from Jubilee Hills.
Speaking informally with the media at Gandhi Bhavan, Yadav noted that the majority community in Hyderabad is Yadavs and claimed no other leader from that community has contributed more to the Congress than he has.
He said he had also raised the matter with Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge, pressing for appropriate recognition within the current government setup.
