Hyderabad: Former Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde has emphasised that women must be granted equal rights across all fields, including commerce, politics, and legislative bodies. She also called for ensuring the compulsory participation of men in childcare responsibilities.
Speaking to the media during her visit to the Bharat Summit 2025, Linde pointed out that the United States has yet to elect a woman as President, whereas Rwanda, considered a less developed country, boasts a higher proportion of women members in its Parliament.
Former Union Minister Pallam Raju also spoke at the event, stating that women often feel fearful, even when approaching a police station, when faced with injustice. He mentioned that these issues were among the topics discussed during the summit.
