NEW DELHI, February 8: Social activist Anna Hazare has attributed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s electoral defeat to corruption allegations, particularly the liquor policy scam. Speaking on Kejriwal’s loss, Hazare remarked that the people of Delhi rejected him due to his tarnished image.
Hazare stated that Kejriwal, once a champion of transparency, had become consumed by the thirst for power. He accused the AAP leader of compromising his ideals, leading to public distrust. “Multiple corruption allegations, including the liquor scam, have led to Kejriwal’s downfall,” he said.
Anna Hazare, who was once a mentor to Kejriwal during the India Against Corruption movement, has been vocal against the AAP government’s policies. He asserted that Kejriwal’s reputation has been irreparably damaged due to the liquor policy controversy and other financial irregularities.
