HYDERABAD: A man from Ashok Nagar in Armoor town was sentenced to three days in simple imprisonment for misusing the Dial 100 emergency service and creating nuisance, Armoor SHO Satyanarayana Goud said on Friday.
According to the police, the accused, identified as Raj Kumar, repeatedly made unnecessary calls to the Dial 100 service under the Armoor Municipal limits, causing disturbance and misusing police resources.
SHO Satyanarayana Goud stated that a case was initially registered against Raj Kumar for the misuse of the emergency helpline. He was later produced before the Armoor Court, where Second Class Magistrate Gattu Gangadhar awarded him three days of simple imprisonment.
The police have warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found misusing emergency services, as it hampers genuine response efforts and creates public nuisance.
