Hyderabad: An Army jawan from Mahabubabad district went missing after abandoning his car and mobile phone near Srisailam, prompting a police search and triggering panic in his native village.
M Naveen, a native of Pusalatanda in Maripeda mandal, had returned from Delhi last month to assist his wife during surgery. He was scheduled to rejoin duty in Delhi on July 11 and left for Rajiv Gandhi International Airport by car that day.
However, instead of proceeding to the airport, Naveen diverted toward Srisailam. His abandoned vehicle and phone were later discovered near the forested region, raising alarm among relatives.
His family has filed a missing persons report at local Police Station, and search operations are underway. Police confirmed the case is under active investigation.
The incident has cast a pall over Pusalatanda, where villagers remain in shock over the soldier’s sudden disappearance.
