Hyderabad: Tirumalagiri police in Telangana arrested a man who allegedly posed as an Army official and cheated multiple women by promising them jobs.
The accused, Ashish Kumar from Bihar, was working as a private security guard in Hyderabad. Police said he claimed to be associated with the Army and collected money from at least 20 women in Bihar by promising them outsourcing positions at an Army canteen.
The fraud came to light when Kumar attempted to take two of the women into an Army canteen without authorisation. Security personnel at the facility intercepted them and alerted the police.
Kumar was taken into custody and booked under charges of cheating. An investigation is underway.
